Timothy E. Markley

Timothy E. Markley, CFEI, CFEII, CFPS, started his career in the fire service in 1975 at Friendship Volunteer Fire Department in Winchester, Virginia. After serving at Friendship VFD, he joined the United States Air Force as a Fire Protection Specialist. He completed assignments within the United States, England, Korea, Honduras, Germany, Egypt, and Iraq.

While in the Air Force, he completed his Associate of Science and Bachelor of Science Degrees. At Sembach AB, Germany he served as Fire Chief and in1994 was assigned to Headquarters Air Combat Command Inspector General at Langley AFB. Mr. Markley inspected active duty, National Guard and Reserve fire departments. He retired from the USAF in 1997 and worked for TRW as a Fire Protection Advisor to the Royal Saudi Air Force in Dhahran Saudi Arabia until 2001.

 

Mr. Markley also worked for Kellogg Brown and Root in Taszar, Hungary to support U. S. military operations. He moved back to Saudi Arabia in 2002 as a Fire Protection Advisor. He is currently a Fire Protection Advisor to a major oil company in Saudi Arabia. Responsibilities encompass advising on fire protection matters both on and offshore, including facilities such as airstrips and heli-ports, gas-oil separation plants, hydrocarbon refineries, marine terminals, gas plants, industrial support facilities and residential communities. 7

Selected certifications include International Fire Service Accreditation Congress Fire Officer IV, Hazardous Materials Technician Trainer and Incident Command Trainer. In addition, Mr. Markley is a certified Fire and Explosives Investigator Trainer through the National Association of Fire Investigators. He has also taught fire science for City Colleges of Chicago and Central Texas College.
