Craig Schwinge

Craig Schwinge served for 28 years in the fire service and retired in 2009 as a captain with the San Jose (CA) Fire Department. He last worked as the public information officer and developed several department documents, including “Public Information and Media Relations,” “Earthquake Response Plan,” and “Structural Firefighting Guidelines.” He also wrote “Drucker's Axioms for the Fire Service” in Fire Nuggets magazine.

Schwinge is a certified fire officer with the state fire marshal's office, hazardous materials specialist, technical rescue technician, emergency medical technician, and adjunct instructor at Cabrillo College. He is also a licensed general building contractor and retired registered environmental assessor with the state of California. He is an alumnus of the University of California and has completed graduate work in public administration.
